It would seem to be hubris to consider an attack on Syria. Most prophecy watchers would think this might be the harbinger of the Damascus war. I do not know. It sure seems like playing with fire to me.

Isaiah 17 I’d say is the virtually guaranteed outcome if this takes place. With the huge stockpile of missiles that we know Assad and Hezbollah are holding – It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to guess how Israel would respond to a sudden, shocking huge attack. They’d be fools to not nuke Damascus and overwelmingly destroy Assad and Hezbollah’s ability to wage war against them. This is not 1967 anymore where a few rockets will go back and forth and a few jet sorties will fly over each others cities. Remember the Gulf War and how quickly the allies flooded over Iraq – and the Iraq war and the “shock and awe” campaign. The way that modern wars are being fought is changing – and with the reduction of the threat of a soviet nuclear response – there is much less disincentive for Israel to respond decisively and possibly with a nuclear weapon to any large scale attack that could threaten it’s existence.

The Samson Option is a term used to describe Israel’s alleged deterrence strategy of massive retaliation with nuclear weapons as a “last resort” against nations whose military attacks threaten its existence, and possibly against other targets as well.

Israel have threatened to use it in the past. They have nukes on land sea and air encase the country is crushed they can still launch. Apparently their range can reach right across Europe, Russia and the Middle east.
How many nukes do they have? who really knows but it is apparently allot.
In my opinion they wont need to use that option as Jesus should hopefully return before that point.

That’s what I was thinking of – though I don’t think a limited but crushing strike on the primary source of an in progress is out of the realm of plausibility- short of the the more extensive “Samson Option”.
