Trump and Clinton – A Divine Judgment on America?

I am not an American and I don’t really follow the presidential candidate race that close. But it has been for some months that I cant shake the feeling that this presidential race is judgment from God. Please read the following and see what you think:

By Michael Brown:

It is altogether fitting that Donald Trump became the all-but-certain presidential nominee of the Republican Party on the same day that he cited the ridiculous allegationsof the National Enquirer that Ted Cruz’s father, Rafael, was involved in the assassination of JFK.

This is not so much an indictment of Trump as it is an indictment of the American people. God could well be giving us exactly what we deserve.

After all, we are the generation raised on a steady diet of amoral and immoral reality TV, also feasting on shows like Jerry Springer and Howard Stern and regurgitating meaningless sound bites as though they were pearls of wisdom.

No wonder, then, that Donald J. Trump appeals to so many Americans. He is a National Enquirer candidate for a Jerry Springer generation. What a match!

Of course, there are fine people who also believe in Trump’s candidacy, people of conscience, spiritual people, patriotic people. I certainly do not condemn all of their judgments, nor is it my place to do so.

I have also listened carefully to the prognosticators who have predicted for months that Trump would be our next president — some even claimed prophetic inspiration for these predictions — and that he would be a tool in God’s hand to destroy the corrupt political establishment and do good to our nation.

Go Ahead Then

I fervently hope that these prophecies will prove true and that I will have to eat every word I have written — and I am writing.

I have no desire to be right; I do have an intense desire to see America blessed; and I would far rather say, “I was so wrong about Donald Trump,” than say, “I told you so!”

That being said, it appears today in America that God has given us over to delusion, a phenomenon mentioned several times in the Bible when God takes away a people’s moral and spiritual sensibilities as a judgment on their sin. In other words, because people reject Him and His standards, He says, “Go ahead then. Have at it,” further pushing us into our folly.

That seems to be the only way to explain how we are suddenly at the point in America where people are saying there’s nothing wrong with grown men using women’s locker rooms and bathrooms and where states like California have ruled that boys who identify as girls can play on the girls’ sports teams and share their shower stalls and changing areas.

This is cultural insanity, yet many are too blind to see.

How else do we explain college students telling a young Caucasian man that if he identifies as a woman, he is; if he identifies as Chinese, he is; if he identifies as a 7-year-old, he is — but if he identifies as 6’ 5” he is not — how else do we explain this unless we have been given over to a spirit of delusion?

I see the Trump candidacy in the same way. Tens of millions of Americans are not put off by his blatant, well-documented lying. Tens of millions of Americans are not put off by his consistent practice of vile character assassination for the purpose of political gain. Tens of millions of Americans are not put off by his vulgarity and profanity. Tens of millions of Americans are not put off by his ignorance of critical issues and his complete flip-flopping on major positions.

A Significant Percentage

And among these tens of millions of Americans is a significant percentage of professing evangelical Christians, despite Trump saying he has never asked God for forgiveness, despite his failure to renounce his previous adulteries or to acknowledge the wrongness of making money off casinos and strip clubs, despite his taking offense at the distribution of the near nude photo of his wife Melania — not because he thought it was a bad picture but because it was made out to be bad.

And evangelicals continue to flock to him.

How do we explain this?

Trump is obviously a brilliant salesman and promoter, a master of the media. And he has masterfully appealed to American fears and anger — fears of terrorism, fears of economic collapse, anger with the political system, anger with American weakness — to the point that his supporters are looking to him as a quasi-savior figure. Only he can get the job done!

But in almost any other time in American history, Trump’s negatives would have so outweighed his positives that he would have quickly disqualified himself as a candidate.

Not today.

Instead, we find ourselves with the increasingly likely possibility that either Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton will be our next president, and to me, there is only one satisfactory explanation for this: God is giving us what we deserve and handing us over to judgment.

All the more, then, should we be on our faces, repenting of our own sins. All the more, then, should we be asking ourselves, “How much is Donald Trump a reflection of each one of us?” All the more, then, should we who profess to know the Lord be asking Him, “How have we failed as Your people? How have we failed in our calling to be salt and light? How did things sink so low on our watch?”

All the more, then, should we be praying for Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton.

Barring merciful divine intervention in their lives, America is on the verge of a great and fearful shaking.

  2. hi tony. i hope you are doing well (and maggie).
the world is toast without Jesus, isn’t it? i still ask for the gift of repentance to come to hearts of people all around me so they can turn to Him and be saved. only the Lord knows who among them will accept the free gift of His Salvation. when He closes the door then it will be closed–meanwhile i keep asking…

  3. Powerfully written , thank-you for posting Vic. It solidifies it all right there.

This echoes verbatim the heart of those that’ve been tremendously grieved by the unction’s warning , going back as far as just prior to 9:11.

God’s Word has not retuned void .

” And evangelicals continue to flock to him”

    Why is that ?

Isaiah 66:4 I also will choose their delusions, and will bring their fears upon them; because when I called, none did answer; when I spake, they did not hear: but they did evil before mine eyes, and chose that in which I delighted not.

Both of the candidates mentioned represent America’s Christianity .

“I will be the greatest representative of the Christians they’ve had in a long time.”Donald Trump .

Those words are almost prophetic !

    The result ?

That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Andre’ you said – “when He closes the door then it will be closed–meanwhile i keep asking…”

I hear your heart loud and clear here and have been burdened beyond words with you but the Lord is setting me free from that bondage ,,,,

    Titus 3:10-11

    10 A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject;

11 Knowing that he that is such is subverted, and sinneth, being condemned of himself.

We’ve been called to warn once, twice and then to? , sadly I hold on for years and years and years and ….to my own destruction. A sister in Christ joked yesterday and imply said ” Coll, get off the cross, we need the wood ‘! She wasn’t being disrespectful to our Lord, but only wanted me to hear how futile my attempt of trying to warn other’s has become!

When the Lord GIVES one over to the strong delusion, there’s NO more turning back to God . Period !

I can only imagine the cries and plea’s of those in the day’s of Noah as the dark storm clouds gathered , “let us in , we’re ready to enter in now’ . Really ? I don’t think so !

Outside the gates are the ………dogs{ not like precious Maggie } with 5 other types of people. Tony pinned it in another post. Revelation 22:15 lists these 🙂

Maybe you’ve never been bitten by those you’ve warned , pleaded with and begged to repent. They end up ripping you to shreds! It hurts. These are storing up wrath again their own selves. How scary is that !

    Romans 2:5
    5 But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;

Matthew 7:6 Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.

I believe there has been given space to repent and it’s too late for those that now all of a sudden realize that we are in some pretty serious trouble. God is NOT mocked and their false ATTEMPT of ” making things right ” is a futile attempt and a sad witness against what’s really hidden in their hearts.

Praise God , He sees as NO man does!

Amen Tony , God have mercy my brother! He that believeth on him is not condemned 🙂

Hug Maggie for all of us 🙂

I’m posting on the go again. Sorry .

  4. all i know is i ask, seek, and knock about souls. not many other things i ask for really. i have all i need because God is my supply through His riches in Christ Jesus. God knows hearts and works where, and in whom, and in ways i really can’t clearly see so i give Him room. it is a privilege to pray for people–my loved ones, my friends, neighbors….that is all i can go by, so i do. i have witnessed to several of them. the times being what they are might be helping to ripen and ready their hearts for repentance and receiving Jesus. the Lord tells me keep waiting on Him–that is the only thing to do in some instances i am finding. God has taken people off of my heart before so i don’t pray for them anymore….but others are still there. those i continue to lift up before the Lord.
america, one of the kingdoms of this world is going down—all the nations are headed down——but out there among the masses are still individuals who will come to the Lord for His forgiveness and cleansing—so it is God’s kingdom that will rise from among the many ash heaps. praise the Lord! the Blood will never lose it’s Power!

  6. The days are dark and the deception is great but we must still be the light and salt of this world. Darkness is trying to overcome the light but keep on shining for Jesus.

God’s word is still true. It is still written that everyone who calls on the name of the Lord WILL be saved. Although judgment is upon this world His grace still abides. The only time His grace will not be there is when the mark is received by a person.

Don’t give up. Stand strong in the Lord and the power of His might. He will not forsake you, never.
