I am no politician so my thoughts on this from a political point of view will be stupid. What this article clearly shows me is that Solana and his ideas are still alive. I often get asked about my views on Solana. He has been retired since 2008 and the ENP will end in 18 months. This gives us an effectively 18 months to plan the funeral of this theory or 18 months to prepare for the worst. And no, I am not suggesting a Harold Camping style of preparing, but a “get closer to Jesus” preparing.
Friends, none of us on this sites have prophetic revelation about times and dates. We have the Bible and we have wisdom from God to show us were we may be in the prophetic timeline. I will watch JS and the ENP until there is no way for the theory to be true, and if it fails I will keep on watching for the next event. One thing is clear, we are extremely close to the end of the age and if I have to be honest I doubt it if there is enough time for a new 7 year covenant to be confirmed.
But then again it is God’s time and I can be wrong. Keep watching!

Vic- I’m not a politician either, but majored in political science/international relations in college- and your observation is anything but stupid. In a very non-transparent political system like the EU is the opinions of respected elites ARE very important. I don’t know enough to make statements about the political culture of Spain or Europe – but it doesn’t seem to be one of a very active/involved citizenry. I wonder how much the average spaniard concerns himself with at actions of politicians. I know here in the US the frustration we have here has driven a lot of people to be really apathetic about what goes on in the capitols and in Washington (there are exceptions of course, but the trend seems to be toward fewer active participants).

I don’t think there’s much chance of the vicar of Rome ruling the whole world, or being able to require everyone to wear a mark in order to buy or sell anytime soon. I just don’t see it as a workable interpretation at all, for many other reasons.

I know that many people have personal beliefs based on a “novice” or limited level of understanding. Whether or not you think that is you does not negate the truth of what I say. The fact that you say the “whole world” and by that I take it you mean the entire planet or globe tells me about how you presently understand things. I agree with you, I don’t think there is much of a chance of the POPE ruling the entire planet either. See, we agree! As for your comments concerning wearing a mark in order to buy or sell anytime soon, I doubt based on what you have already written that you have anything beyond quoting me scriptures you read that I could use. William, do you even read the posts on this site or do you just like to fall in and tell us all how wrong we are? Your believes of the holy see (saw) being the antichrist is one of the oldest theories around. I know it very well and I am sure most of the readers are familiar with it. On this site we discuss BIBLE prophecy related to current events, and the RRC has no relevance in these days. So unless you can supply us with PROOF of your theories (Biblical proof and current events), you are wasting our time. In any way, to hold yourself superior by belittling our “limited level of understanding” is purely showing your arrogance and that you can only “proof” your point by attacking the reader/writer.

I don’t usually quote this man ( CS Lewis ) but do like how he adress the issue of pride and arrogance. “Nothing can be done about overcoming it until one first sees it in himself. If you think that you are not conceited, it means you are very conceited.”

Here in NAmerica if one is ” a special needs” person you are classified as being ” dof” 😦 or someone that needs to be fed with a spoon with spit dribbling down them …wow that hurt as it is in my profession to serve these very people 😦 The UNLOVABLE AND UNTOUCHABLE ones !
May the Lord call us to reach out to the very ones Christ came to save. The ones that do have ” special needs” – “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”- Jesus Christ 🙂

Well, that shows you the character of those christians who think they are special teachers. We are better if without their false teachings. Jesus has been called worse and we are no better than Him.

I have seen the beauty of such love and holiness inspired by those who have been given special challenges placed within families. It is a blessing to be called “special needs” – if only my life could inspire the kind of love and purity of heart that I have seen in the families where one of its members had “special needs” I would count myself as truly blessed. Thank you William – you may have meant it as an insult, but God has used it for good.

hey friends–personally i feel i am in the “critical care unit” myself! you know the type-constantly needing “surgery” to cut out the pride-kind. Hisown you-as you so often do-bring up the very verse(s) that are part of my quiet time! phil 2:12-13…in fear and trembling today for me–God working in me both–to will and to do–His Good Pleasure! thank you and all those here that keep the Scripture at the very forefront of what is to be always our Focus and Authority. anything else invites pride that lets it’s self-righteous way trample others-no matter what “need” they show up with (all in the name of God no less). no need for a “rant” of a “hardened” opinion (as mr irwin confessed of himself above) here at this site–this is a place of Grace–Gentleness and Kindness testify the work of the Spirit amen? may we always be “found guilty” of giving and receiving much Grace here!
