The next target – Iran?

I have read Bro Brian’s comments on Israeli prime minister Netanyahu trying to rally support for an attack on Iran. You can read his comments HERE.

Here is the article he posted by British Sky News:

Israel Considers Pre-Emptive Attack On Iran

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is trying to rally support in his cabinet for an attack on Iran, according to government sources.

The country’s defence minister Ehud Barak and the foreign minister Avigdor Lieberman are said to be among those backing a pre-emptive strike to neutralise Iran’s nuclear ambitions.
But a narrow majority of ministers currently oppose the move, which could trigger a wave of regional retaliation.
The debate over possible Israeli military action has reached fever pitch in recent days with newspaper leader columns discussing the benefits and dangers of hitting Iran.
Mr Lieberman responded to the reports of a push to gain cabinet approval by saying that “Iran poses the most dangerous threat to world order.”
But he said Israel’s military options should not be a matter for public discussion.

Then I did a news search and found something interesting. Israels Haaretz reports that the UK is preparing a military strike on Iran. Here is the article:

Report: U.K. preparing for military strike on Iran nuclear facilities

The Guardian newspaper says U.K. increasingly concerned over Iran’s enrichment program, and is preparing to deploy warships to assist a possible U.S. strike.

The U.K. is stepping up its preparations for a military strike on Iran, the Guardian newspaper reported on Wednesday. According to the report, the U.K. is increasingly concerned over Tehran’s nuclear program, and is preparing to deploy Royal Navy ships in the coming months to assist a possible U.S. attack on key facilities in Iran.

The paper cited senior officials who said they believed Iran had regained its technological capabilities which were severely damaged in a cyber-attack last year. Iran said the Stuxnet worm infected personal computers of employees at the Bushehr plant, but not the plant’s main systems. The New York Times reported last January that the worm was a joint Israeli-U.S. effort to undermine Iran’s nuclear ambitions.

Iran’s military chief warned Wednesday that an Israeli attack on Iran’s nuclear development sites will come at a heavy price, according to the Iranian ISNA news agency.

Responding to reports that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been trying to gain a majority in the cabinet for an attack on Iran, the chairman of the joint chiefs of staff of Iran’s armed forces, Hassan Firouzabadi, warned both Israel and the U.S. against such a move.

Meanwhile, the Israel Air Force continues conducting comprehensive drills on long-range attacks.

And then we have the USA keeping up the front:

US fears uncoordinated Israeli strike on Iran

Fearing an uncoordinated Israeli attack against Iran, the United States is working on several levels to pressure the UN’s Security Council into imposing harsher sanctions on Iran, Yedioth Ahronoth reported Monday.

A senior US State Department official said there was growing concern among Obama administration officials ahead of an IAEA report set to be published in November indicating considerable progress in Tehran’s development of its military nuclear program.

The US is concerned that the report may trigger Israeli actions against the Islamic Republic which may not necessarily be in line with US interests in the region.

Read the rest HERE

Look at the wording of the last article. The US does not fear an attack, but an UNCOORDINATED attack. Why? To protect the US interest. Clearly the Obama regime feels nothing for Israel.

Okay, now this is getting interesting. According to these sources Israel, the UK, the USA and NATO are all involved with the same plan. If this is going to happen we better buckle up as the ride is going to get rough. We know from Eze 38/39 that Iran with the Gog coalition will attack Israel, so I doubt it if any strike on Iran will be as successful as they hope. If so it may silence Iran for a short while and put Israel at ease before the devastating Gog/Magog invasion were God himself will defend Israel.

Keep in mind the existing 7 year covenant. Keep in mind the possible head wound. We may be heading for the showdown of the ages.

Stay tuned…

  1. Netanyahu told his parliamentary colleagues Monday. “The collapse of Gaddafi’s regime in Libya, the bloody incidents in Syria, the American forces leaving Iraq, the new government in Tunisia, the upcoming elections in Egypt and many other events – these are all expressions of the immense changes occurring around us. These changes can increase the instability within these countries, and the instability between countries….A nuclear Iran would pose a terrible threat on the Middle East and on the entire world.

  2. I just read that Israel had test fired their Jericho missiles, not sure what those are mind you, but let me tell you, no one is really sure what is going on right now. Except that we are living in perilous times, wars and rumors of wars, kingdom against kingdom, or nation against nation.

Israel must feel that they have to do something, the world as well, must feel that they must do something to keep Iran from being able to just bomb anywhere they want. I for one can tell you, as a believer, I pray for all involved. Those on both sides, God loves them all, I pray for our enemies as the word tells us to do,

I will be honest with you and tell you that this is one of the toughest things I think we as believers probably have to do. These people think they are following God, in their religious zeal, and this battle between them is old, and began in biblical times that is for sure.

Luk 6:27 But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you,
Luk 6:28 Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.
Luk 6:29 And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloke forbid not to take thy coat also.
Luk 6:30 Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again.
Luk 6:31 And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.
Luk 6:32 For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them.
Luk 6:33 And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same.

Luk 6:35 But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.
Luk 6:36 Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.
Luk 6:37 Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:
Luk 6:38 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

  4. the fuse is definitely lit on this power keg………..we must watch and pray and not sleep……from my devotions this morning–Jesus said: when you see these things come to pass, know that it is near, even at the doors and….what I say to you I say to you all, Watch! (from mark 13: 29 &37) we are getting so very close to seeing Him stand in the clouds to call for us but many things are yet to happen-and i believe quickly-that He says we need not fear for He has told us beforehand so we can take heed. by faith in our Faithful Lord we know we have Light for the way Home and His Spirit’s courage to stand us up in the days of persecution. we have the sure promises of God for all we need to finish this race–praise His Holy Name!

  5. I’m sorry to derail this discussion, but there’s been something I’ve wanted to ask for quite some time now. I’ve never been able to really understand the thinking about how people still believe the ENPI is the covenant spoken of in Daniel 9. I guess I can’t wrap my mind around that. So is this how you understand this, that the ENPI is this ‘covenant with many’ spoken of in Daniel chapter 9? And it’s not ‘middle’, it’s ‘midst’ when this covenant is to be broken then? What about all the prophecies about the AC doing his thing for 42 months then? I mean, that time frame is mentioned numerous times in the Bible. Or is it that this covenant in Daniel 9 and the 70th week are not the same events, is that how you are seeing it?

  6. I think you’ve got our supposition correct. I for one am a proponent of interpreting prophecy as – does it match with what the text says, and is it not contradicted by any other passage.

So in Daniel 9:27 – we are watching for him to put an end to the sacrifice and offering in the midst of the week. Which to me seems to be any time before the end of the only 7 year agreement that has involved Israel.

The 42 months, times time and half a time, 1260 days could relate to times of the same length but unless there are other markers that indicate it MUST be referring to the same period I think it safe to assume that it may not refer to the same time period.

If someone out there can point me to a biblical text (not some well known prophecy experts assertion) that contradicts this assumption – I’m willing to look at it and reconsider.

  7. I’m still not getting it, sorry. I’ve read about this view on FP and here, but I’m afraid I simply don’t get it. What about the seals? What about the 70th week? The 2 witnesses? The rapture? The passage in Daniel is talking about 69 weeks and then it goes on to refer to a week-long ‘covenant’, and I think everyone ‘assumed’ that was week #70, and it would be logical to think that way…

  8. STW – there is clearly a gap – between the 69th week and the the 70th week. I frankly find the entire 9th chapter of Daniel to be very puzzling.

My queston – must we assume the last day of the 70th seven falls on the day of Christ’s second coming, or is it some other day?

Is the seven mentioned in 9:27 one of the 70, or is it in the gap (which is not very clear in the text either)? I dont’ see it explicitly stated that there will be a gap of 276 or 277 sevens or whatever it turns out to be eventually between the 69th and 70th week.

  9. Taking Brother Andre’s advice, I have been watching this event unfold and reading all that the news agencies have to offer. My question right now is why Israel is announcing its possible intentions ? Is it a security leak or an open channel diversion in order to gain a tactical advantage concerning a conventional strike as the element of surprise is huge. Is this a ploy to gain additional international support or a diplomatic maneuver in order to utilize their nuclear arsenal to diminish this true threat once and for all ?
I would like to offer this prayer of guidance and mercy to the Lord God Almighty.
‘ Deliver us Lord from every evil and please grant us peace in our day. In your mercy help keep us free from sin and protect us from all anxiety as we await in joyful hope for the coming of our Savior the Lord Jesus Christ. For the Kingdom, the Power, and the Glory are Yours now and forever, amen.’

One more little piece of info…
    http://www.reformedreader.org/gbn/igb.htm

Enforcinghisgrace: I apologize for not answering this one when you posted it. I have looked at the Geneva bible before, from what I could tell, the verses are very similar to the king james version and I did know the pilgrims used this bible as well.

What I found I did not like was the commentary that is written throughout it with the verses.

I have read the American Standard Bible and the Revised American Standard as well as the KJV, so I am not a King James only person. The one bible I do not ever recommend is The Message bible for reasons most of you know. Many years ago I read the NIV some as well.

I also have the Septuagint on my Esword, when I found out the first disciples used this verson of the Hebrew bible.

Anyway I will be checking out the Geneva Bible again, since you brought it up to us on the first post.

I put this here since the thread it was on was very old now and wanted to make sure enforcinghisgrace saw this.

Thanks for bringing this up, and I will look into your link and the geneva bible again.

“Greece’s two mainstream political parties have agreed on a narrow pact for a national unity government after intense pressure from the EU, which warned that the country would be left to go bankrupt, perhaps within days, if a cross-party consensus was not achieved.”

And a second on the way?
Rumors of Italy’s Berlusconi stepping down
    http://euobserver.com/843/114191
Financial Markets seem very happy to see him going, as a resistor to EU pressure to get Italy’s fiscal house in order (in the order the EU prefers).
“Markets were quick to respond to the rumour with stock markets initially rallying and the yield on Italian bonds falling. But soon after the denial by Berlusconi, stock markets slumped again and government borrowing costs went up.”

Who will be the third? My money was on Cameron in the UK, but it seemed the EU referendum push died off for now. I was guessing if that heated up it would precipitate a new crisis for EU legitimacy, with one of the big three of the EU potentially pulling back from the Union (even further than keeping its own currency).

  19. Especially in a chapter that gives us such a clear and amazing picture of Israel’s redemption in the last days, and God’s faitfulness to his promises. Perhaps something happening with a Man named Ariel (which I read means Lion of God, hero, or altar hearth) is a pointer to the fulfillment of the broader prophecy of Israel’s turning to Christ.

  20. yes thanks for that response justasheep. did not know the meaning of his name. i think you could be right-a pointer specific to a time of redemption for israel that is coming soon on the horizon-after some incredible events that are all in the making in our day and time. he may be a “picture” of something about israel’s awakening to the Truth about Who is their Messiah. the Bible is fascinating isn’t it?

  21. This reminds me of the dawn of World War 1 as nations and states are flipping on previous treaties while changing directions from earlier indications. ‘Arab spring’ seemed to be centered on countries close to Israel with Syria still in the balance. The drawing of sides is becoming clearer with every passing day. The way I see it is shaping up if a world war does break out : Israel, USA, UK, Australia, possibly India, and NATO (maybe minus France, Germany, & a few certain others) against Iran, Lebanon, Palestine, Russia, China (maybe), Turkey, Pakistan, and some small countries like North Korea, Venezuela and Cuba with lesser roles for support and logistics purposes. For some reason I feel that China will strike Japan before joining to avenge the atrocities of the last world war. I do hope I am wrong about all of this but the signs of an upcoming apocalypse are on our door step and we still need to pray that the outcome is in line with the prophecies from the Book of Revelations.
