Something to ponder

I found this gem of truth written by gospel singer Don Francisco on Facebook. I just had to share:

Did you know that you don’t have a covenant with God? You don’t and that is a good thing… You couldn’t keep your end of it to safe your life! The New Covenant is between the Father and Jesus. You and I are now in Him, but He is the one that upholds the human end of it. Your inclusion and all of the promises and benefits of it, are a gift of love… All you need to do is rest in it.

Isn’t the Gospel wonderful? Don’t we serve an awesome God?

  1. Strange as that is not what is written in the Tanakh or in the B’rit Hadashah ( sorry for those that only read modern translations it means Renewed Covenant mistakenly translated into Greek meanings & thinking and then western ideals which is were we get NT there never was a New Testament it was additional writings supporting & representing the ever lasting Covenant which was correctly known as B’rit Hadashah Renewed Covenant for who ?

    Certainly Not the Church it was one group of people who already had a covenant from time gone by and it was renewed not stopped that would make GOD a liar …..

  2. You preach a strange gospel Jason. Sorry, but this page is for common folk, not scribes reading from Tanaks and Hadashas or whatever you with your proud learned mind wants to call it. We read the worlds best seller, the Bible. We are babes in Christ and enjoy our status. Please do not come and confuse the babes.

  3. i love the Gospel of my Lord and Savior Jesus. He kept covenant for me–no strings attached—only Nails…………………………

  4. this verse “nails” it….col 2:14 blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to His cross.

  5. Don Summarized that well in a song years ago – “He’s alive and I’m forgiven – Heaven’s gates are open wide – He’s alive”

    Not a “western” idea or a twisting of the scriptures. God sovereignly ordained a time and place where Greek was the lingua franca of the time, a language that had spread all over the world with the Roman Empire to send his Son to bring a Gospel of forgiveness to the whole world – not just to the jew. To argue that the Gospel can only be understood in one language, or according to the tradition of the pharisees is judaizing nonsense.

  6. Jason, it’s hard to evaluate a comment that has no punctuation until the question mark at the end. You may have a point, but it’s hard to tell. Chag Pesach Sameach.

  7. Jer 31:31 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:
    Jer 31:32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD:
    Jer 31:33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.
    Jer 31:34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.
    Jer 31:35 Thus saith the LORD, which giveth the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, which divideth the sea when the waves thereof roar; The LORD of hosts is his name:
    Jer 31:36 If those ordinances depart from before me, saith the LORD, then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me for ever.
    Jer 31:37 Thus saith the LORD; If heaven above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, I will also cast off all the seed of Israel for all that they have done, saith the LORD.
    Jer 31:38 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that the city shall be built to the LORD from the tower of Hananeel unto the gate of the corner.
    Jer 31:39 And the measuring line shall yet go forth over against it upon the hill Gareb, and shall compass about to Goath.
    Jer 31:40 And the whole valley of the dead bodies, and of the ashes, and all the fields unto the brook of Kidron, unto the corner of the horse gate toward the east, shall be holy unto the LORD; it shall not be plucked up, nor thrown down any more for ever.

    Eph 2:11 Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands;
    Eph 2:12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:
    Eph 2:13 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.
    Eph 2:14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;
    Eph 2:15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;
    Eph 2:16 And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:
    Eph 2:17 And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh.
    Eph 2:18 For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.
    Eph 2:19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;
    Eph 2:20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;
    Eph 2:21 In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:
    Eph 2:22 In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.

  8. Amen Vic it is Jesus’ blood and His sacrifice that ALONE set’s us free from the curse of the law. He being made a CURSE for us.There is nothing we can do to save our own souls amen and amen πŸ™‚

    Gal 3:13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed [is] every one that hangeth on a tree:

    Two by two Israel and Judah – Yes amen Roma a beautiful confirmation for this week’s bible study.

    Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah: Heb 8:8

    Hbr 8:10 For this [is] the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:

    My past week’s reflection has been on that day {20 yrs ago} that I became a born again Christian. On that day { 29th March 1993} I had made a vow to the Lord { not knowing the seriousness of what was spoken } and yet He has since then REQUIRED all of that from me . I stand in awe just how Holy and just His ways truly are.

    It was not 18 mon later that I lost my very young husband and this started the refining journey of my being a very young naive new babe in Christ.That vow came back with each trial and tribulation as the Lord would gently open up my clenched hand asking me to surrender that which I so held onto and that which I promised to forsake for Him πŸ™‚

    Question is would I have had it any other way? Definitely not! What an amazing God we serve!

    Num 30:2 If a man vow a vow unto the LORD, or swear an oath to bind his soul with a bond; he shall not break his word, he shall do according to all that proceedeth out of his mouth.

    But every vow of a widow, and of her that is divorced, wherewith they have bound their souls, shall stand against her.

  9. i need no other argument, i need no other plea, it is enough that Jesus died and that He died for me–to quote another gospel song writer eliza hewitt. indeed, our faith has found a Resting Place in Jesus The Christ. there is no other Way—fact! there is no other Way for us—faith! makes my heart want to leap from my chest at the thought of Jesus πŸ™‚

  11. Question? is the beginning of sorrows part of the tribulation, or a prelude to it?

  12. Scott’s, born to watch site is leading me to wonder…a bit, i tell ya. ??? imagine a solana/obama dynamic. Remember clinton saying,”i believe in everything javier solana is doing”! …something like that,..when solana had Kosovo blown to hell! hell being the operative word here. take heed folks, for as you can see,…soo many signs are showing….up! God be with us all. Praise you Father,Son and Holy Ghost,…keep us where you are……………..Look, Listen, here He comes!!!!!!! / sooner or later LOVE is gonna getcha

  13. Tony just wanted to let you know that I’ve been praying for your mom. I don’t know her from Adam but she has touched my heart. The Lord has given me a love for the elderly that I don’t really understand myself and pray that the time you spend with her will be precious and filled with with past memories that will make her smile and reminisce of your childhood πŸ™‚ Try making up a list of question’s to ask her and write these down for your future comfort. What a priceless gift.

    About the times of sorrows I believe we have been in them for some time now which is a pre curser of the ” appointed -time” and the 42 month trib. Remember the disciples though they were in the end times but PRAISE God for the Fig Tree being our marker πŸ™‚

    Bro Brian has a powerful post up today and loved this quote-

    “You cannot understand these things on your own, but you must ask God to open your eyes that you may see. You cannot understand anything on your own understanding and wisdom, but placing yourself totally under the Lordship of Christ will you begin to see the Word as a living testimony of His Will.”

    Flows right into a new post I’ve been working on and love the way he always seem’s to just pin it ! πŸ˜‰
