Javier Solana : “If we want to keep the EU, there will be no transfer of sovereignty and should scare us”

The former senior representative of the Council for the Common Foreign and Security Policy of the European Union, Javier Solana, has made some controversial statements about the future of the Community institution.

In the words given to El País , Solana said that “if we want more unity, we must do more transfer of sovereignty” . “No doubt there will be, and we should scare” he says.

“You can not seek redress in a joint problem and yet not wanting to do this assignment “he says.

“Clearly, one consequence is that there must be greater solidarity to solve the problems, but I have no doubt that there will be assignments and much stricter obligations, and I think will be good for everyone, “he concludes.

Regarding the role of Spain in this transformation, Solana believes that “Rajoy’s new government will have to get the battery to the speed of light.”

“Many of our problems are in Europe . In the pre-euro crisis in the nineties, the problems were here and some in Europe. Now is the opposite. We can not solve if not resolved there too “he says.

Comment:

This was Tweeted by Solana. He speaks like a man with a plan. Will he return to power soon?

  2. I Agree Roma,
Im just waiting for him to get some sort of position that give him major influence on a global scale. Although he already does have that considering he is on the board or president of so many Global think tanks.
