Prepare ?

Comment by Adamantine:

Additional research shows that while this man appears honest he is not a top consultant but one of many traders in the British system who happened to be asked his opinion and at least gave it straight out.

Do we have anyone hearing a contrarian view from this man’s thoughts?

  2. Not surprising at all to me what he says here. During the depression here in America, many who had money made more money, as is always the way. I invest what I have into the heavenly realm

Mat 6:19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
Mat 6:20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
Mat 6:21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

Luk 12:22 And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on.
Luk 12:23 The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment.
Luk 12:24 Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls?
Luk 12:25 And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit?
Luk 12:26 If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least, why take ye thought for the rest?
Luk 12:27 Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
Luk 12:28 If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith?
Luk 12:29 And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind.
Luk 12:30 For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.
Luk 12:31 But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Luk 12:32 Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
Luk 12:33 Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth.
Luk 12:34 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
    Luk 12:35 Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning;
Luk 12:36 And ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their lord, when he will return from the wedding; that when he cometh and knocketh, they may open unto him immediately.
Luk 12:37 Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them.
Luk 12:38 And if he shall come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants.
Luk 12:39 And this know, that if the goodman of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched, and not have suffered his house to be broken through.
Luk 12:40 Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not.
Luk 12:41 Then Peter said unto him, Lord, speakest thou this parable unto us, or even to all?
Luk 12:42 And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of meat in due season?
Luk 12:43 Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.
Luk 12:44 Of a truth I say unto you, that he will make him ruler over all that he hath.
    Luk 12:45 But and if that servant say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin to beat the menservants and maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken;
Luk 12:46 The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers.
Luk 12:47 And that servant, which knew his lord’s will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.
Luk 12:48 But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.
Luk 12:49 I am come to send fire on the earth; and what will I, if it be already kindled?
Luk 12:50 But I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how am I straitened till it be accomplished!
Luk 12:51 Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division:
Luk 12:52 For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three.
Luk 12:53 The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Luk 12:54 And he said also to the people, When ye see a cloud rise out of the west, straightway ye say, There cometh a shower; and so it is.
Luk 12:55 And when ye see the south wind blow, ye say, There will be heat; and it cometh to pass.
Luk 12:56 Ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky and of the earth; but how is it that ye do not discern this time?
Luk 12:57 Yea, and why even of yourselves judge ye not what is right?
Luk 12:58 When thou goest with thine adversary to the magistrate, as thou art in the way, give diligence that thou mayest be delivered from him; lest he hale thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and the officer cast thee into prison.
Luk 12:59 I tell thee, thou shalt not depart thence, till thou hast paid the very last mite.

I would absolutely never want to make money off the problems and failures of other people by investing into this world’s economy, which has always been ungodly to me.

Fear is not of God, and fear of what is coming on the world is not of God.

So preparing means nothing to me except to know that the end is coming and to do my best to allow the Holy Spirit within me to make me pure as gold, refined to be worthy to be with Jesus totally.

As Paul was leaving the church at Ephesus: he said this to them:

Act 20:31 Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears.
Act 20:32 And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified
Act 20:33 I have coveted no man’s silver, or gold, or apparel.
Act 20:34 Yea, ye yourselves know, that these hands have ministered unto my necessities, and to them that were with me.
Act 20:35 I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.
Act 20:36 And when he had thus spoken, he kneeled down, and prayed with them all.
Act 20:37 And they all wept sore, and fell on Paul’s neck, and kissed him,
Act 20:38 Sorrowing most of all for the words which he spake, that they should see his face no more. And they accompanied him unto the ship.

The ways of this world and its money system, has always ridden on the feelings of man, and wars, and conquering, etc etc.

Rev 3:15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
Rev 3:16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
Rev 3:17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
Rev 3:18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.
Rev 3:19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
Rev 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
Rev 3:21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.
Rev 3:22 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

  3. The best thing we can do is warn people to the best of our ability. Most of the people I know have their heads buried in the sand.

I’m putting away as much as I can afford to in useful supplies, mostly shelf stable foods and basic ingredients we can use to make stuff no so much to just to take care of my own family but to be a blessing to those around us – because if we are right I think that will be a powerful way the Lord can use us to get to what are hardened hearts at the moment.

If people don’t listen and don’t prepare then they will have a very hard time in the near future sadly.

  6. I have a question………………….We are not to store up riches on earth, but we can store up food, even though God said that he would provide daily for us just like he does for the birds? The Israelites stored up manna in the desert, and what happened to it? I was on the site Heavens Helpers, and I believe what it was saying was that we are not to store up food or riches. I may be wrong. That is when God will look upon us as lukewarm, trusting him for some things but not others. Am I misunderstanding this? I myself am very aware of what is happening in our world, but I am not going to store up food, because God promised that He would provide for me on a daily basis. I trust God’s promise. I am confused.

  7. Susan, I agree sometimes it is confusing. We also have the story of Joseph and how he had the Egyptians save 7 years worth of food for the oncoming famine. Unless I am told otherwise, God wants me to save up. He has provided us wisdom through His Word and we know what is coming. I am not the most spiritual person (read that as I don’t understand everything), but I am a very logical person (hence the CPA). God gave me this logic and logically the Word tells me things are going get even worse in the time to come.

Now, the story. I think some of you got it wrong here. Just b/c you have protected your assets via certain vehicles or are investing for an expected downturn does not mean that you are doing it at the expense of others. I make decisions all the time on if the market is going to go up or down. Most people, whether they want to believe it or not, make the decision that the market is going to go up more than down. This leads them to buy stocks which is considered going long. The recent downturn has provided many opportunities to make money if you saw it coming. One thing I did was buy puts. A put is a contract to buy a stock at a set price sometime in the future. If the price of the stock goes down the put rises in value and vice versa. Someone received the money I paid for the puts. I can sell the puts anytime the market is open or I can exercise them (another story). When I sell them they have either gained or lost value. It is my gain or loss. When I do sell them, whomever is buying is either wanting protection on portfolio or they think the market will go down. There does not have to be a winner and a loser is the main point of my story.

  8. If God wanted us to store up why Matt 6? I also have wisdom from His Word and I also have life experience. My husband and I were saving for retirement, and we are near that age, but we lost everything 7 years ago. There were times that we had no food, but God saw to it that we didn’t go hungry. Those times taught me that we can trust God for everything. We live on very little, what we need, not what we want, necessity not luxury. I used to worry about retirement, but nobody in the Bible retired. It isn’t Biblical, so why do it! I don’t think it is unwise or shows a lack of intelligence to trust what God has spoken through His Word and has spoken to us through our life experience.

  9. Susan, my reply was not saying it shows a lack of intelligence. I only commented b/c you stated you were confused. I was showing how God has had people store up things before, so it is not necessarily a lack of faith if you store up things right now.

Matthew 6 has several messages in it. The main one is more of a heart issue about where your focus should be and that is not on things or worrying about tomorrow.

As for my day to day life, i hussle when i need to……to maintain overall balance – and to make up for my lazy days and my procrastination. i like balance. 11. We haven’t done much in the way of prepping, it’s not like we’ve got a cellar full of MREs and a cache of weapons. I share your view on not laying up treasures on earth, and don’t believe I’d ever “retire” should the Lord tarry.

When I look at the world I can see bad times are coming- are they the bad times of the very last days? It would appear that they probably are, but whether they are or not it’s really just prudent to set aside some things that will be helpful to get through the worst of it. If we’re correct – and this is the final days before he comes to get us, I think rather than holing up in a bunker we should be doing anything we can to be a blessing to those around us, be they brothers and sisters or the lost. When the signs of the coming storm the world is ignoring become the storm – those of us that have been preparing, prudently, not anxiously since we aren’t assuring anything for ourselves – he could easily make it all disappear in an instant, those of us that have been able to set some things aside will have an opportunity to be the instrument of the Lord’s blessing to those that have not been willing or able to prepare. I know for a lot of people its hard enough just to put food on the table, let alone set aside any extra – and I’d say to those people, love the Lord don’t be anxious either, he will still provide as he always has. Perhaps how he provides though is through someone who is experiencing unprecedented financial plenty in their lives – and instead of choosing to buy fancy cars, a bigger house and trips around the world – they are quietly filling their cellar with necessities that will be a blessing to their neighbors in the hard days to come.

  12. Thank you Tony…………….you seem to be in the same place I’m in. I am aware end times are here, but we do not know the day or hour. I am not anxious, and will use what is on hand in my cupboards, when this happens. The rest I will leave to God. I believe Matt 6 does say not to worry about tomorrow, and my thinking is that storing items for tomorrow, is thinking of tomorrow. I plan to look to nature for my sustenance. I think it very kind that those are storing to help others, but what exactly will that look like when all of this comes to pass? Don’t you think that we will all be watched, and have to adhere to a curfew? It will be worse than during the Second World War when people hid Jews. But then that is just another worry left to God!!
