The Gospel must be preached to the whole world before the end shall come.

Matt 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

The following is a part of a commentary on Matt 24:14  by a well known prophecy teacher that I have read last night. This is one of the most quoted verses to proof that the return of the Lord is still far in the future.

I do not see the times of the Gentiles being fulfilled. In other words we have not fulfilled what we need to do as the church, that being to share the gospel.

Do you realize that millions upon millions of people do not have the knowledge of the saving grace of our Lord Jesus Christ?

The Joshua Project shows that 6,889 individual people groups or 2.83 billion unreached people who have no knowledge of God, the Bible or His Son Jesus Christ.

To put that in perspective the world’s population is currently estimated to be 6.97 billion by the United States Census Bureau as of July 1, 2011.

That means that 2.83 billion people or approximately 1/3 of the world who has no knowledge of the saving grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Let me remind you what Christ commanded:

Matthew 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

Now when Christ said “nations” this is not referring to countries with boarders. He is speaking of people groups.

Do you know that 2,848 people groups in the world have neither Scripture portions (God’s written word) or audio recordings (God’s spoken word) available in their primary language?

Scripture says…

Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

6889 people groups (nations) have no idea who Jesus Christ is.

How can they when they don’t even have God’s word in their own language?

They are not going to learn of God’s blood atonement through the stars, the trees or some other all inclusive mumbo jumbo that is floating around out there either.

It is only by God’s Word and His Word alone that illuminates the path of salvation. That is a fact because God’s Word states it as so.

So what does this boil down to? It means that not “all the world” has been evangelized for Christ and that we have not gone to “all nations.”

Hal Lindsey stated at the Understanding the Times conference back in 2005 that “when the last gentile hears the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, well strap on your rocket packs because we are going home.”

Well, to be honest, we have not fulfilled the time of the gentiles with approximately 1/3 of the earth having absolutely no knowledge of God, His Word or His Son.

Folks, God does not lie nor does he change His mind. He has given us the criteria that is needed. What has happened is that we have twisted and contorted His Word to fit our ideas of the way it should be. In other words, we have fallen short.

Comment by Wickus:

It is not my intention to proof that this article is wrong or to discredit the words of Jesus. I am just going to write what I think and your comments to clarify this topic will be appreciated.

1) If it is true that only 2/3 of the world heard the Gospel in 2000 years, it means that it will take another 1000 years to reach the rest at this rate.

2) If point one is true it means we can hang up our prophecy shoes as the lost 1/3 of the population will not hear the gospel in our lifetime.

3) If this is true in our generation, it means it was true in every generation and there has been millions/billions who died without hearing the Gospel.

4) If it is true as the writer of this article says that sinners will not hear of God’s blood atonement from the stars and the trees and other mumbo jumbo, what does Paul mean with the following:

Rom 1:17-21  For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith. For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;  Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:  Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened

I know this is a controversial subject. I can not see the apostate church with vessels like TBN, God-TV and other reaching the lost 1/3 of the population in our lifetime.

What say ye?

  1. How do we know that this is what the fullness of the gentiles means? This is what I have heard that we have to wait for the last gentile to be saved. I do not agree with what they are saying and tomorrow will share why.

  2. I believe, and this is just my thoughts, that every living thing knows God at some level, whether they have heard the Bible or not. We were all created by Him, and somewhere within each one of us, we know that God exists. I would have to search to find it because my memory isn’t that great anymore…………..but there have been people found in the remotest areas who have known that God exists. God is God, and he can show Himself even to those in remote areas.

  3. God doesnt need us to present the gospel.
Have you heard about the conversion of muslims? receiving visions of God and being saved?
Have you heard of the tribe in New Guinea? The ones who had never been contacted before by mankind had built a landing strip in the middle of the jungle because God had told them too. They didnt even know what a landing strip was for until the missionaries discovered it and flew in.
What about Abraham? His faith was accounted to him for righteousness?
God doesnt need us to tell the gospel to everyone…He’s very capable of sharing his grace Himself by whatever means He wants…
And He has put that desire, that longing in every heart to know Him.

  4. I totally agree, Gregg. It seems that Muslims do have visions of God, and that brings them to salvation. God is great, and all powerful, He certainly can go where no human can, and do what no human can. It is all in His time.

  5. I was just reading from a site I googled. If taken in context Matthew 24, that talks about the gospel being preached to all the world and then the end would come, refers to the end of Jerusalem, the temple, and the Old Covenant, not the end times and return of Christ.

  6. maybe the remaining will hear the gospel while it’s being shouted by a flying angel covering the earth proclaiming that the time is near and men should come to repentance? just a thought.

  7. What say ye?

I agree with the posters above…..God is greatly able without our feeble attempts to participate in the sharing of Him.

But the “fat lady” is just warming up……………….you may not receive or believe it now….but you will when the “confirmation with many” PART TWO starts.

OOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHH BOY!……………………It’s gonna be a DANDY I’ll tell ya!

  8. Greetings HappyDaddy,

I believe that you have hit the bulls-eye with your comment.

    Revelation 14:6 & 7 (KJV)
    (6) And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,
    (7) Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.

All of the inhabitants of the earth will get to hear the everlasting gospel, before …

  9. Matt 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

The Rapture is NOT the end.

Dave Hunt writes: ” This is talking about the end: “…then shall the end come.” – the end of what? I think it means the end of this old world order. In I Corinthians 15, Paul says: Then cometh the end, when He shall have delivered up the kingdom to the Father, and God shall be all in all. So, I believe that takes place at the end of the millennial reign of Christ on this earth, which is not the ultimate kingdom of God, and then we have a new heaven and a new earth. We have a new beginning for the entire universe.’

…I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, because your faith is being reported all over the world. (Romans 1:8)

…All over the world this gospel is bearing fruit and growing, just as it has been doing among you since the day you heard it and understood God’s grace in all its truth. (Colossians 1:6)

Recalling Christ’s command to preach the gospel to “every creature.” Paul answers:

…This is the gospel that you heard and that has been proclaimed to every creature under heaven, and of which I, Paul, have become a servant. (Colossians 1:23)

Jesus said to preach the gospel to the whole world. Paul said it was done. Jesus said to preach the gospel to every creature. Paul said it was done.

  10. the Lord will hold the door open for His Gospel till He is satisfied that all peoples have their opportunity in His Grace-it won’t be us getting all that done because flesh would want the credit and i agree God has Ways to get His message out-even in spite of people! have read numerous accounts of God supernaturally getting people to the Cross without human means. He hears humble and contrite cries from the deepest and darkest of places and responds to bring Truth to those who know they need it and He already knows who will respond in faith to Him. when the rains came to flood the earth in the genesis account God had had His man and His witness before that ancient world for quite a period of time. when it was time to close the door (of the ark noah obediently built) it was God Who shut the door. our part is to obey-asking for His Spirit to lead us-to do what gives the Gospel it’s unfettered way and His outcome will certainly suit His Will. Jesus keeps telling my heart-shine! shine right where you are and look for others to come along side in prayer and giving so they can go preach the Cross to the lost where i cannot. God’s Ways are higher-much higher than ours amen?

  11. Well let me tell you, I know there are many parts of this world that heard the gospel, but then later those parts have rejected it and gone for another kind of god, etc. Like muslims, this area had the gospel first, am I right? Like Ephesus and all those areas are in Turkey. Am I correct? So who does this guy think he is referring to? Paul said that the gospel had been preached to the whole world, and I guess that meant as of his time, which was the Roman Empire which covered a great area and which might have been the whole world as far as we know too. We believe a lot of false things that have been taught over the years, about how long the American Indians have been here, etc, etc.

Rom 1:8 First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world.

    Act 17:6 And when they found them not, they drew Jason and certain brethren unto the rulers of the city, crying, These that have turned the world upside down are come hither also;

Rom 10:18 But I say, Have they not heard? Yes verily, their sound went into all the earth, and their words unto the ends of the world.

    Col 1:5 For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel;
Col 1:6 Which is come unto you, as it is in all the world; and bringeth forth fruit, as it doth also in you, since the day ye heard of it, and knew the grace of God in truth:
    Col 1:7 As ye also learned of Epaphras our dear fellowservant, who is for you a faithful minister of Christ;
Col 1:8 Who also declared unto us your love in the Spirit.

Well let me say this, we know what they say, the so called scientists, who think man is evolved from some sluggish carbon crap, in the waters, well we know better than that. Then they go around with their theories of how neanderthal, well you guys know what I mean. I do not even want to repeat the junk I was taught about man evolving from the apes through all the stages, and now lol, they have even changed what they taught me see? So how in the world do any of us know just how the American Indians got here? see what I am saying?

They want us to think that things are not what the bible says, I will stay with the bible. Don’t care how many people think I am scientifically stupid, yeah I can study all of that science so called of man.

1Ti 6:20 O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called:
1Ti 6:21 Which some professing have erred concerning the faith. Grace be with thee. Amen. The first to Timothy was written from Laodicea, which is the chiefest city of Phrygia Pacatiana.

Ok many of you said the same things I was going to say here, but my computer goofed last night and it was too late to start over, thankfully most of this stayed here.

I think a lot of the things we have been taught still have to be renewed in our minds as believers, as we are told in Romans. The science falsely so called. I stand firmly against evolution and the things they show today on all the history and science shows about how the universe evolved over billions of years. You have to choose the bible means what it says or it does not.

As well I think the fullness of the gentiles or the nations

Gen 10:4 And the sons of Javan; Elishah, and Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim.
Gen 10:5 By these were the isles of the Gentiles divided in their lands; every one after his tongue, after their families, in their nations.

2Ti 4:14 Alexander the coppersmith did me much evil: the Lord reward him according to his works:
2Ti 4:15 Of whom be thou ware also; for he hath greatly withstood our words.
2Ti 4:16 At my first answer no man stood with me, but all men forsook me: I pray God that it may not be laid to their charge.
2Ti 4:17 Notwithstanding the Lord stood with me, and strengthened me; that by me the preaching might be fully known, and that all the Gentiles might hear: and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.
2Ti 4:18 And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

  12. Well, I praise the Lord for you guys and girls. I just knew there is no way that we can sit back another 1000 years to wait for the Gospel to be shared as the original writer suggests. I don’t think there are so many people who did not hear about Jesus. He is the favorite curse word around. Just switch on your television for an hour… 😦

The Muslim world knows about Jesus. It is written in their false book. The angels will proclaim it, and most of the world rejects the Gospel. So yes, we are ripe for the return of our Lord!

    Bless you all.

  13. Romans 11

1I say then, Hath God cast away his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.

2God hath not cast away his people which he foreknew. Wot ye not what the scripture saith of Elias? how he maketh intercession to God against Israel saying,

3Lord, they have killed thy prophets, and digged down thine altars; and I am left alone, and they seek my life.

4But what saith the answer of God unto him? I have reserved to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal.

5Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.

6And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then it is no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.

7What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded.

8(According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear;) unto this day.

9And David saith, Let their table be made a snare, and a trap, and a stumblingblock, and a recompence unto them:

10Let their eyes be darkened, that they may not see, and bow down their back alway.

11I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy.

12Now if the fall of them be the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them the riches of the Gentiles; how much more their fulness?

13For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office:

14If by any means I may provoke to emulation them which are my flesh, and might save some of them.

15For if the casting away of them be the reconciling of the world, what shall the receiving of them be, but life from the dead?

16For if the firstfruit be holy, the lump is also holy: and if the root be holy, so are the branches.

    17And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert grafted in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree;

18Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee.

19Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be grafted in.

20Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear:

21For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.

22Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.

23 And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be grafted in: for God is able to graft them in again.

24For if thou wert cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and wert grafted contrary to nature into a good olive tree: how much more shall these, which be the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree?

25For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.

26And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:

27For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.

28As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the father’s sakes.

29For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.

30For as ye in times past have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief:

31Even so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy.

32For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all.

33O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!

34For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor?

35Or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again?

36For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen.

Ok now back to the fullness of the gentiles here, now just know I am studying this out again now. And have no idea if this idea is correct yet, but put this back into context of what Paul is talking about ok? and who he is talking to? and what specifically he is referring to here, Israel and the blinding or hardening.

12Now if the fall of them be the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them the riches of the Gentiles; how much more their fulness?

13For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office:

25For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.

26And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:

27For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.

What if Paul is not talking about here the last gentile to be saved, but the fullness of the gentiles may mean when those who have been scattered into the nations, all come back into Israel?

see here again he was speaking about Israel being gathered back and knowing that Jesus is indeed their messiah, at least this is what I am coming to thinking.

12Now if the fall of them be the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them the riches of the Gentiles; how much more their fulness?

Because see when this happens, I mean Israel finally sees, that has to be when the end comes.

Now remember for the most part, the teachings of the church come from RCC and then the reformers. The majority of who did not ever bellieve Israel would be back in their land OK??

Go and do some research and you will find that during that time when Israel was scattered, and so much antisemitism, they counted them done and that God would never deal with them again. At least this is what I have found from my stuides, which is where replacement theology came into play.

And many denominations today do not even think that this is part of prophecy at all, or even study prophecy for that matter. Lutherans do not, my friend said her pastor just told them in the Missouri Synod, all we have to know is that Jesus is coming back. All the other things we do not need to bother with. I love this lady dearly but she is not a lover of Israel at all, and I think it comes from her wrong teachings and her German heritage as well.

Anyway wickus, sorry to be so long winded but I wanted everyone to just stop and read that whole chapter again and even the surrounding chapters as well and see if they can let what they think they know this means, go for a bit and put it into context and give it a chance to see if the Holy Spirit shows us something different.

I have just come this after seeing a messianic or zionist teaching on it. And am praying for sure that the Lord guide my mind into understanding this one better. OK???

Thanks again for all of you and your thoughts as I do believe we should always have counsel if we think we see something different.

  14. Bible. Is will reach every nation with audio recordings of the Bible in their own language by 2016 if they stay on the trajectory and schedule they are on now. They have an iPhone app that alliws the user to pick his/her language to listen to the Bible on a smart phone. They also have a website thst does the same. The amazing thing though is they produce solar run boxes that have the Bible recorded in them. Missionaries all over the world are taking these Bible Boxes into URPG (unreached people groups) at an astonishing rate. They truly are fulfilling the great commission!

PS. No, I do not work for them. I just find it interesting and relevant to the other prophecy being fulfilled in sync. Especially since this is a requirement that must be met before Jesus returns.
