Hal Lindsey

Comment by Adamantine:

I am pondering the significance of Hal Lindsey being willing at this late date to FULLY claim the WEU as the ten.

He did make the point they were likely important in 2005. Now he did it with a greater degree of surety.

Did he do so because seeing the WEU  referred  to so distinctly as the “the ten” impress him that he felt in light of other current events that it was required?

Did he have guilt about having delayed so long ? Did he have guilt knowing that Rec. 666 transferred the war powers to the EU that to wait any longer would be a travesty ?

Is Hal Lindsey himself a large enough figure in prophecy teaching that God is using Hal himself as a marker and a warning to others? I can only ponder this last question but it does strike me as a possibility.

Hal Lindsey is near the end of his career and his voice when quiet is likely to be the last of the voices short of the two prophets to speak with authority to the question. The rest of today’s prophetic voices are minuscule and will pass far below the radar.

Even Hal Lindsey’s comments will not cause much more than a small ripple in the Christian world.

I suggest these comments about the WEU and the ten were the most important of Hal Lindsey’s career since the 1970’s when he wrote the book “The Great Late Planet Earth”.

  1. Hal did do a lot of good with that book, and still for many years has reported a lot of relevant news to the people. However when you are taught in seminary and so invoked into the pretrib rapture scenario, you seem not to be able to see other pertinenet details. Having been brought up in the church that taught and believed pretrib, and still do I do know that. It is only when you move out of that scene, and dig into the word of God itself without anyone leading you away, that you can see the truth. I know that many of these guys try to make up the jewish wedding ceremony thingie, thinking of Perry Stone here on that one. But there is not one scripture anywhere that shows us this. His pretrib theory about the groom whisking the bride away for the 7 days thing, now I forget exaclty how that one goes, to me, this is proved nonsense, by the scriptures here: Not sure where he gets his information, but remember many things of tradition Jesus did not teach to us.

Joh 2:1 And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there:
Joh 2:2 And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage.
Joh 2:3 And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine.
Joh 2:4 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come.
Joh 2:5 His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.
Joh 2:6 And there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece.
Joh 2:7 Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim.
Joh 2:8 And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bare it.
Joh 2:9 When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew;) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom,
Joh 2:10 And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now.

  2. hope you are watching and listening to his comments about yours that is being aired right now. think he explained it pretty well. if you dont like him, dont watch him.

  3. Jd, did you even read the post or did you just make up your own thoughts? Please read again and tell me were is it indicated that we “don’t like” Hal Lindsey. Your input will be appreciated.

    Thank you.

  4. Comment by Adamantine:
It is not a matter of believing what he says. I agree with 90%. I simply find his belief on the pre -trib rapture to be dogmatic and it MAY have blinded him to the ENPI which may then have undercut 90% of the value of his ministry.
It is not a matter of liking what he says…we seek truth not our likes.
