Comment by Adamantine:
I am pondering the significance of Hal Lindsey being willing at this late date to FULLY claim the WEU as the ten.
He did make the point they were likely important in 2005. Now he did it with a greater degree of surety.
Did he do so because seeing the WEU referred to so distinctly as the “the ten” impress him that he felt in light of other current events that it was required?
Did he have guilt about having delayed so long ? Did he have guilt knowing that Rec. 666 transferred the war powers to the EU that to wait any longer would be a travesty ?
Is Hal Lindsey himself a large enough figure in prophecy teaching that God is using Hal himself as a marker and a warning to others? I can only ponder this last question but it does strike me as a possibility.
Hal Lindsey is near the end of his career and his voice when quiet is likely to be the last of the voices short of the two prophets to speak with authority to the question. The rest of today’s prophetic voices are minuscule and will pass far below the radar.
Even Hal Lindsey’s comments will not cause much more than a small ripple in the Christian world.
I suggest these comments about the WEU and the ten were the most important of Hal Lindsey’s career since the 1970’s when he wrote the book “The Great Late Planet Earth”.
