Camping admits he is correct, but just a few months off.

Preacher says world will actually end in October

A California preacher who foretold of the world’s end only to see the appointed day pass with no extraordinarily cataclysmic event has revised his apocalyptic prophecy, saying he was off by five months and the Earth actually will be obliterated on Oct. 21.

Harold Camping, who predicted that 200 million Christians would be taken to heaven Saturday before catastrophe struck the planet, apologized Monday evening for not having the dates “worked out as accurately as I could have.” (Wickus: No repentance or admitting that he was wrong. He is stuck in his pride)

(Skip)

Through chatting with a friend over what he acknowledged was a very difficult weekend, it dawned on him that instead of the biblical Rapture in which the faithful would be swept up to the heavens, May 21 had instead been a “spiritual” Judgment Day, which places the entire world under Christ’s judgment, he said. (Wickus: When the Jehovah’s Witness movement were wrong that Jesus would return in 1914, they changed it to a spiritual return of Jesus)

The globe will be completely destroyed in five months, he said, when the apocalypse comes. (Wickus: Does this man actually read his Bible??? Were is that written???)  But because God’s judgment and salvation were completed on Saturday, there’s no point in continuing to warn people about it, so his network will now just play Christian music and programs until the final end on Oct. 21. (Wickus: This is so wrong Mr Camping!! So you refuse to spread the Gospel as there will be no more people saved?? )

“We’ve always said May 21 was the day, but we didn’t understand altogether the spiritual meaning,” he said. “The fact is there is only one kind of people who will ascend into heaven … if God has saved them they’re going to be caught up.”

Camping’s hands shook slightly as he pinned his microphone to his lapel, and as he clutched a worn Bible he spoke in a quivery monotone about some listeners’ earthly concerns after giving away possessions in expectation of the Rapture.

Family Radio would never tell anyone what they should do with their belongings, and those who had fewer would cope, Camping said.

“We’re not in the business of financial advice,” he said. “We’re in the business of telling people there’s someone who you can maybe talk to, maybe pray to, and that’s God.”

But he also said that he wouldn’t give away all his possessions ahead of Oct 21.

“I still have to live in a house, I still have to drive a car,” he said. “What would be the value of that? If it is Judgment Day why would I give it away?”

Comment by Wickus:

Sorry to say, no I am NOT sorry to say, but this man is a false teacher. He can not be compared with David Wilkerson or Herb Peters. What he is saying is blatant lies that can not be supported by Scripture. To walk around with a Bible in your hand does not make you a Christian. I grew up in a house were the Bible was daily in my fathers hands, but he is a Jehovah’s Witness and not a Christian.
Camping refuses to admit that he is wrong. He is not a prophecy teacher, but is into numerology. On this site we also follow a theory that some will frown on, but at least our theory is supported by Scripture and geopolitical events. We also urge people to search the Bible and the news for themselves as we can be wrong. We do not ask your money, we just ask you to stay watching. Our theory did have flaws in it, and maybe still have. As time progress, the picture will get clearer or fade away. For first time readers who does not have a clue what I am talking about, the theory we are watching is commonly called the ENP theory. Here is the highlights:

1) In 1995 the EU made a covenant (Barcelona Process) with Israel and many other nations and it was initiated by Javier Solana.

2) In 1999 Solana became the Secretary General of the 10 nation Western European Union and the High Representative of the EU.

3) On 1 Jan 2007 the ENP funding instrument started for a 7 year period ending 31 Jan 2013. The EU called the ENP a confirmation of the 1995 Barcelona Process. Israel was the first to sign. This was done under the leadership of Solana and while he was head of the 10 nation WEU.

4) In 2010 we expected something big to happen in the middle of the 7 year treaty, but nothing did. Even worse, Solana resigned his position and the new post under the Lisbon Treaty was given to an unknown form Britain, Lady Ashton. It looked like this theory died and many stopped watching.

5) By studying, praying and discussions between fellow watchmen, we realized that the Bible actually states that the AC will remain hidden until he receives power to continue for 3.5 years. That is why we are still watching. Solana is under the radar (hidden) while Lady Ashton is getting stick and may be on her way out. There is about 3.5 years of her term left. If by some means Solana takes over or gets power to CONTINUE in his original post, it may be prophetic.

7) We have also came to the conclusion that there is not a 7 year tribulation as the popular believe is, but only a 3.5 year tribulation. The AC receives power for 42 months ONLY. He will not rule for 7 years. The only places were the 7 years are mentioned is Daniel 70th week and the 7 year covenant. Revelation is all about 42 months.

8 ) Israel and Jerusalem may soon be divided. That can lead to an AoD event.

9) It looks like Egypt, Libya and Sudan may be subdued or is getting subdued by EU/NATO.

These are the highlights. There is much more to say, but it will make this post too long. With all of this I am not trying to defend this site. I am trying to show you the difference between speculation (as Camping is doing) and looking at the facts of what the Bible says and compare it with world events.

Beware of wolfs in sheep’s clothing. When they say “He is in the desert”, do not believe them.

  1. Agreed, Camping is nothing more than an unrepentant false prophet. Pray for those that are deceived by him.

Thank you for reposting the summary of the line of possible prophetic fulfillment that many of us continue to watch. I would hope that with all the attention that end-times prophecy has been getting lately, that a few more might stumble across this site and come with their questions, their meditations on the scriptures and add to a lively discourse on current events and how they may relate to the only true (and 100% reliable) source of prophecy found plainly in God’s word.

  2. Don’t worry – it would take an appearance by the archangel gabriel himself to get me to do that- and last time I checked he hadn’t stopped in for tea.

    You keep it too! 🙂

  3. 2Th 2:1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,
2Th 2:2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.
    2Th 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
2Th 2:4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
2Th 2:5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?
2Th 2:6 And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.
2Th 2:7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.
2Th 2:8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:
2Th 2:9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
2Th 2:10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
2Th 2:11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
2Th 2:12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

What is so difficult to understand in the clearly written word of God, Paul to the Thessalonian church here.

Apparently we had men like Camping running around with junk like this going on way back then too.

  4. In my personal opinion, this is what we are doing and watching for, exactly what Paul told us would come.

  5. Wickus,

Remember that the Messiah has told us that the time of great tribulation will be cut short (Matt. 24). It will not be 42 months. It will be less than 42 months.

    Blessings.

  6. Were is it written that it will be less than 42 months? Yes, the time will be cut short. If Jesus does not return to put a stop of the fighting at Armageddon, there will be a good chance that human kind can wipe out all life on earth. It has always made sense to me.

  7. (NKJV) Luke 21:25-26 “And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; “men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.

(NKJV) Matthew 24:21-22 “For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. • “And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened.

To Truth: I believe that scripture is the literal word of God. 42 months is 42 months. If the Great Tribulation were to last more than 42 months NO FLESH would be SAVED. Its amazing to me how many sites I have been to that leave out The signs in the sun, stars, and moon as they try to discern Prophecy. Has any anyone noticed any Earth Changes lately? The Heavens are Under a tremendous amount of stress and it, by the authority of our Lord, is effecting our planet tremendously. As we approach the Great Trib this will only quicken and we may be in for a bumpy ride till the Man of Sin is revealed. My Point: well Camping as unreliable as he is may be right about 1 thing this fall, about the time of the Blood Moon and fall feasts the Heavens may be Shaken. Only time will tell. I hope Camping can shed his pride and repent because it is not the Lords wish that anyone should parrish. Nor is it this sinners wish! Hopefully those that were deceived will wake up and put their noses in their Bible and worship the one true God, Jesus Christ!

    God Bless

  8. Comment by Adamantine:
Herb Peters was wrong in terms of the events he expected to see fulfill out the” last week”. I do not know if he would have been friendly to our approach of carrying on. He did not claim to be a prophet however seeing 666 in answer to prayer puts him in the class of personal prophesy. Hence at this point possibly by his own criteria if the WEU dissolves as the seat of the AC then he would have been incorrect. Only in the most austere of unforgiving assessments would he have been a false prophet. I only agree with anyone who see False in his case to mean “incorrect” prophet. False prophet seems to imply an evil spirit or sin at the least. He was not that. Given that events may yet prove him correct in the broader strokes I do not yet call him even an incorrect prophet.
Wilkerson wrote books and gave out announcements which could only be called prophetic even though he did not claim to be a prophet. I will not consider a future destruction of NYC if it occurs to be credited to his account as a prophet. That will happen even as someday California will be shaken. It takes no prophet to see this and say it. Wilkerson was a preacher of righteousness and a worker of righteousness in a manner and degree few others have ever been. It is from this that it becomes not acceptable politically on these pages to call him an incorrect prophet. He certainly was not a false prophet in the lines of an evil person seeking to deceive. I think some of his calls are incorrect. I am as yet unconvinced that today’s “prophets” are allowed to claim correctness if the timing is so distant that they are dead and gone AND the event which is predicted is also a known scientific inevitability.
Harold Camping is certainly an incorrect prophet. I also have the least sympathy for him and wonder the most about his being a ” false” prophet because he has few other accolades to his credit. But lack of other accolades is not what determines a false prophet. It would be prophecy which derives from an evil intent. I am unable to judge that in him. I think Christian are most angry with him because he set a date and was wrong for the most important Christian event and for one that we know we should not do. In that I consider him a false prophet because he should have known better than to prophesy a date for the return of Christ. He did not say the season but went so far as to say a day and the hour!. He was a false prophet. I think Wilkerson was an incorrect prophet and Herb Peters must be placed in the category of prophet but the jury is out as to if he was incorrect in the broadest of strokes. He was wrong in the details many which would be large enough for the majority of the world to claim he was wrong. He was not a false prophet however. I have nothing but respect for Herb Peters and Wilkerson in all else. That does not allow them to be called true prophets however. The only reason Gods prophesy in the Bible should qualify as correct true prophesy even though it has no date is because these events will not happen in the natural in a billion years unless God’s hand is in it. The demise of any worldly city or collapse of any worldly economy is a statistical inevitability and to predict these things for some unknown distant date dos not IMHO make for proof of prophesy even if God is in it. In other words God can cause a prophesy of the death or removal of office for a world politician and it can be true prophecy but not qualify for proof of prophecy if it only occurs when the man is 110 years old.

  9. To Wickus: totally agree. http://www.lookupfellowship.com has a nice article on testing the spirits of these False Prophets. Campings many followers believed in Jesus Christ and that he was God manifested in the flesh. But the story doesn’t stop there and I think that’s were he failed along with his message of the endtimes. False teacher/prophet for sure but I don’t see him as a prophet at all. I don’t think I heard him once speak as if he was under the authority of the Lord. I’d sure hate to be in his shoes leading a flock astray.

    Have a blessed dAy Sir

  10. False teachers and teachings such as this one are from Satan, they are not from God. Things like this cause people to be deceived. People have killed themselves over this and other false teachings such as this one.

If people would only read the Word of God for themselves, they would not be caught off guard. God’s Word is NOT too hard to understand!

    Deuteronomy 30:11-14

“11For this commandment which I command thee this day, it is not hidden from thee, neither is it far off. 12It is not in heaven, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go up for us to heaven, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it? 13Neither is it beyond the sea, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go over the sea for us, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it? 14But the word is very nigh unto thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that thou mayest do it. “

  11. I am certainly not upholding this man at all but I do have to say that if you have read all the news reports up to now you will know that consistantly it was reported that he was saying the rapture would happen on May 21 not the end of the world. All the reports that I read stated the rapture would happen on May 21 with 5 months of tribulation following and the end of the world would come on Oct 21. So as usual the media are distorting what someone has said again. I do not agree with Mr Camping and I don’t see how any Bible reading Christian could but the fact remains that the media are once again having a field day distorting what even they have previously reported.
