A difficult prophecy is Eze 38 and 39. The troubling part is were does it fit into the timeline? The majority of people see the Gog/Magog invasion before the last 7 years or the 70th week starts. The main argument is the following verse:
Eze 39:9 And they that dwell in the cities of Israel shall go forth, and shall set on fire and burn the weapons, both the shields and the bucklers, the bows and the arrows, and the handstaves, and the spears, and they shall burn them with fire seven years:
The argument for it happening after the 70th week started is also strong. I am starting to think that the Gog/Magog war may be the same as Armageddon or maybe overlapping Armageddon, but definitely in the last 3.5 years.
Consider the following verses:
Eze 38:8 After many days thou shalt be visited: in the latter years thou shalt come into the land that is brought back from the sword, and is gathered out of many people, against the mountains of Israel, which have been always waste: but it is brought forth out of the nations, and they shall dwell safely all of them.
This shows us that it is a latter years (last days) war.
Eze 38:20 So that the fishes of the sea, and the fowls of the heaven, and the beasts of the field, and all creeping things that creep upon the earth, and all the men that are upon the face of the earth, shall shake at my presence, and the mountains shall be thrown down, and the steep places shall fall, and every wall shall fall to the ground.
VS
Rev 16:20 And every island fled away, and the mountains were not found.
This sounds to me like a verse that could have been taken out of Revelation and something that will happen during the wrath of the Lamb. Notice the mountains that shall be thrown down.
Eze 38:23 Thus will I magnify myself, and sanctify myself; and I will be known in the eyes of many nations, and they shall know that I am the LORD.
Eze 39:7 So will I make my holy name known in the midst of my people Israel; and I will not let them pollute my holy name any more: and the heathen shall know that I am the LORD, the Holy One in Israel.
Eze 39:21 And I will set my glory among the heathen, and all the heathen shall see my judgment that I have executed, and my hand that I have laid upon them.
Eze 39:22 So the house of Israel shall know that I am the LORD their God from that day and forward.Eze 39:28 Then shall they know that I am the LORD their God, which caused them to be led into captivity among the heathen: but I have gathered them unto their own land, and have left none of them any more there.
Eze 39:29 Neither will I hide my face any more from them: for I have poured out my spirit upon the house of Israel, saith the Lord GOD.
The above verses says it all. After the battle EVERYONE shall know the LORD God. His face shall not be hidden from them again! Does it sound like there can be a “Time of Jacob’s trouble” after this event? I honestly doubt it. This is final judgment stuff.
Zec 12:9 And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.
Zec 12:10 And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.
Zec 12:11 In that day shall there be a great mourning in Jerusalem, as the mourning of Hadadrimmon in the valley of Megiddon.
The above Scripture makes it clear who the One will be that will fight the battle for Israel. It is Jesus Christ, the Lord God, the One who they have pierced.
Now the only Scripture that “proofs” that the Gog/Magog war will happen before the start of the 70th week is Eze 39:9, and that is a shaky proof. The argument for it is that the Jews will have to burn up the wood before the 1000 year reign of Christ start. My question is, do you really think that there will be no fire allowed on earth in that time? Do you really think that the Jews in physical bodies living under the Messiahs reign will never cook, heat water or melt metal for plows? Life will go on when Jesus reigns from Jerusalem. It will be a time of peace, but people will still need fire. So they will get the 7 years to burn the wood very easily.
As we see the world turning its back on Israel, Russia and Iran getting closer together and while the 7 year ENP(I) is still in place, we might be in a time were all of these prophecies are on the brink of fulfillment. To first watch for a Gog/Magog invasion with a 7 year time for burning wood after that might be risky and catch us off guard.

Great topic, and analysis. I’m actually glad that you brought this topic up.
I too believe that this war will be in the final 3.5 years. Most Pre-Tribulation Rapture believers use the 7 year burning process to justify their faulty theory. Scripture does not indicate (at least in my opinion) that every thing has to be completed prior to the Return of Christ – this also includes the things mentioned in Daniel 9:24-26.
I believe that many things, such as sin, rebellion, and death – which are some of the things that are labelled to be “finished”, or completed by the 70th week; in Daniel 9:24-26 – will continue until the completion of the Millennial Kingdom. That’s when it will finally be finished. Even the final war – when Satan is let loose from out of his prison, to deceive those who will be born during the Millennial Reign of Christ – will come against God’s people (Revelation 20:7-9); is a very good indicator that those things mentioned in Daniel 9:24-26 will not come to fruition until the Millennial Reign has been completed.
So, therefore I’m thinking that it may be possible for the 1,000 year Reign of Christ to be a part of the final 3.5 years – possibly even considered as the a single Day. Not dogmatic about this view; however, I have found no Scriptural evidence that everything has to be completed prior to the Return of Christ.

hi wickus. i have been thinking here myself for a bit and i wonder about the whole palestinian thing and the firecracker it is right now. the psalm 83 lineup more closely resembles the closest neighbors of israel who are of course age old enemies and the lineup of nations in ezekiel’s war includes a broader spectrum of her enemies in my opinion. at least if i am understanding who is who of those ancient names listed. my question becomes–is it possible that there are two wars coming up with israel? i wonder if there is a “palestinian state”war lets call it (and it’s backers-syria being very key here to further help and inflame hamas and hezbolla) and then the broader war that engages russia and iran, etc.. the reason i wonder is because far and away the other arabs are not really interested in the palestinians having a homeland or they would have naturalized them but are-like them-interested in israel’s land and it’s wealth which means getting rid of the jewish people. the arab nations love to hate israel but don’t mind hating each other too. of course the politicians are happy to get on board for their great “humanitarian” reasons to negotiate even though they are horribly one-sided against israel for reasons uniquely theirs(!) and we know who that set-up is for) could it be that the Lord will let the “palestinian” thing draw out to battle those who are the most immediate in their haste to be rid of the jews and be slaughtered (kinda like 1967?) then the remainder (those with their nukes and waiting for their mahdi) can sweep in for the spoils-all the while using russia as partner to their crime and china wanting it’s piece of the pie-to be drawn into a final battle with the Almighty? it seems to me it would provide an interlude where the issue of “peace and safety” of unwalled villages could be negotiated and somewhat settled (short term) with her immediate neighbors rockets-which no one has yet negotiated away we notice-taken out until the big guns of iran,etc will be drawn to the fight by hell itself for a final (all out nuke) showdown…………(don’t know what to make of it all but glad i’ve read the end of the book and know that the Lord God Almighty wins!!!!!!!) i am probably missing something here but maybe someone could shed some light on these thoughts of mine (i hope i was not too hard to follow in what i wrote) thanks friends for your great insights.

I also want to include……..as we near the Return of Christ, we are beginning to learn that Prophecy has become more and more understandable. Our understanding is increasing, and that with prayer, diligent study – and communication through things such as the Internet.
No longer will those who have fed into the ideas of prior Theologians just take what they have said, or written about without it being challenged. Even the very “road signs” which are happening daily speaks out against some of the things that have been written by those with man-made ideas.
I thank God for web-sites such as this, which challenges me daily to read Scripture.

This is one I have considered myself as being the same as armeggedon, not dogmatic however. The other place Gog/Magog is mentioned however, is in Revelation.
Rev 20:7 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,
Rev 20:8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.
Rev 20:9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.
Rev 20:10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
Rev 20:11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
Rev 20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
Rev 20:13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
Rev 20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
Rev 20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
When I believed pretrib, I of course, bought into their version of this, but I have changed.

It makes sense. Sin and transgression will not end in the 1000 year kingdom. Although it will be far less than in this Godless world that we are living in, there will still be sin and people will die. Only when everything is made new after the millennium Kingdom will Daniel’s prophecy be fulfilled in full. Now how this all fits into the 70 weeks remains a mystery.
I thank the Lord for the people on this site who is willing to look past the traditional teachings and explore the Word to see what is truth. So many people I know is stuck in the traditional teachings. Their pastor said so, so it must be the truth. So sad.

I have read the Ezekiel war might be at the end of the millennium but the one thing that I cant work out is in the bible it states the countries around Israel like Libia, Ethiopia and others.
My point is Will those countries be named the same names as we have now in the 1000 years? After Armageddon wouldn’t either some of those nations be destroyed and or renamed?
I cant see in the 1000 years all the countries having the same names as they do now.
I reckon Ezekiel 38,39 might happen before Armageddon.
And think of it this way: with most Arab nations destroyed there will be a lot of Muslims that will feel betrayed by Allah for not saving them or their countries so they will probably accept the beast system and receive the mark as they will be very confused.
Who would we have left, USA EU China as the world military.
Only God really knows but seems that tensions in that area are about to explode.

Thanks for the map. I’m working on one of our newsletters titled “Israel’s Annihilation” and working with Yahweh’s word through His prophet Ezekiel, the map helps identify where the Heavenly Father will bring this attack from. There will also be attacks from other areas around Israel, so it’s an all-out annihilation that He said He would do as a recourse of their disobedience. Won’t happen until it’s time, but it will happen. Then, praise Him, once He purges wickedness, He then restores and that’s what we’re looking for…the day of restoration when He has it all rebuilt, including His temple.
As for some of the other comments to you, since we don’t believe in the “new testament” at all, when one studies from Genesis to Malachi, there is never any confusion as to just what the Heavenly Father is up to and why. He just doesn’t reveal the entirety of His plan until it’s time (just like He did at the flood and all of the world mocked Noah while he spent a lifetime building that ark – when it was time, the world darned well knew Noah was right on). He wouldn’t even tell Daniel the entire picture, which is all the more reason for we who believe to obey His commandments, decrees and instructions now.

Magog , I’ve just had a two day discussion with a older sister in Christ that seemed irritated with me for daring to state that the beast was a ” system” and I finally had to take a ” time out ” but left her with some pretty serious questions to ponder.

The beasts are systems and leaders its nations its armies and its spiritually fueled by the dragon ( satan )
the Heads the horns the crowns. The beast (Greek: Θηρίον, Thērion) refers to two beasts described in the Book of Revelation. The first beast comes from “out of the sea” and is given authority and power by the dragon. This first beast is initially mentioned in Revelation 11:7 as coming out of the abyss. His appearance is described in detail in Revelation 13:1-10, and some of the mystery behind his appearance is revealed in Revelation 17:7-18. The second beast comes from “out of the earth” and directs all peoples of the earth to worship the first beast. The second beast is described in Revelation 13:11-18 and is also referred to as the false prophet. The two beasts are aligned with the dragon in opposition to God. They persecute the “saints” and those who do “not worship the image of the beast [of the sea]” and influence the kings of the earth to gather for the battle of Armageddon.[1] The two beasts are defeated by Christ and are thrown into the lake of fire mentioned in Revelation 19:18-20.
The description of the beast is found primarily in Revelation chapters thirteen and seventeen. Chapter thirteen gives the fullest description of the beast. John saw the beast “rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.” (Revelation 13:1) The beast was like a leopard, with feet like the feet of a bear, and had a mouth like a lion. One of the heads of the beast had a mortal wound but the wound was healed, causing people to wonder and follow the beast. (Revelation 13:1-10) This description draws many parallels with a vision in the Book of Daniel where four beasts symbolizing a succession of kingdoms come out of the sea in the forms of a lion, bear, leopard and a beast with ten horns.[2] In Revelation chapter seventeen we learn of a third beast, scarlet in color [3] and some of the symbols are explained. The prevailing view is that the scarlet beast is another, distinct, visualisation of the same subject as the beast of the sea. The beast of the sea is pictured with crowns on its horns, which are not present on the scarlet beast. The scarlet beast is shown being ridden by a harlot who “reigns over the kings of the earth”, (Revelation 17:18) whereas the beast of the sea is not being ridden, and is given “power…and great authority.” The seven heads of the beast represent both seven mountains and seven kings, and the ten horns are ten kings who have not yet received kingdoms. Of the seven kings we are told that five have fallen, one is, the other has not yet come. We are also told that the beast itself is an eighth king who is “of the seven”, and is going to perdition. We are also told that this beast “was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition.
The second beast is primarily described in Revelation chapter thirteen. This second beast comes out of the earth whose overall appearance is not described, other than having “two horns like a lamb”, and speaking “like a dragon”.[5] His purpose is to promote the authority of the first beast with the ability to perform great signs, even making fire come down out of heaven. This second beast is also called the false prophet.[6] He speaks like a dragon commanding the people of the Earth to make an image “to” the beast that was wounded by a sword. It is declared that anyone who does not worship the beast or its image would be killed.[7] The lamb-horned beast from the earth also causes all people to receive the mark of the beast “in their right hand or in their forehead.”[8]
Those who dwell on the Earth are deceived into making an image of the beast as a means to worship his authority. It is the lamb-horned beast who breathes life into the “image of the beast”, so that the image becomes alive and is able to speak. It also declares death to anyone who does not worship the authority of the beast.[9] Those who are killed for not conforming to the authority of the beast are blessed through the “first resurrection” that allows them to rule in Christ’s presence as priests during the one thousand year reign. The second death has no power over these individuals who were victorious over the beast[10] by not being deceived, even though they lost their lives on Earth by his authority.[11]

or maybe they are Fallen entities ( angles or maybe even serafim ) the heads and the crowns could be a description of what they have gained (influenced) .. the following sentence made me question my own statement.

I don’t know if you’re posted before but thank-you for joining us and jumping right into a discussion that is so vitally important to understand right now in light of where we’re at prophetically.
I’ve I just skimmed through your response and will go through these as time permits but just love the truth that is posted here;

Don’t know about you guys but many of us are already in preparation for this in our personal lives and choices we have to make AGAINST those that DEMAND that we CONFORM to a ” religious ” system. I’ve fought against this for the past 7 years and believe me when I say it’s cost me almost everything that I love here on earth, not understanding this until the Lord resonated that in my spirit of “WHY “we’re not able to be DECEIVED by the wolves around us. Those who’s voice’s we run from.Lucifer is a liar , a thief and a destroyer of lives , but so are his ” ministers ” . Hey they are cunning in speech and even use the ” lingo”. Guard your hearts beloved!!
Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.2 Cor 11: 15
“My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me” The Lord Jesus Christ.

99 names of the “prophet” ( son of the beast ?) that exalt him as if he were god have been prayed in the “temple” on the mount every day for 1323 years.
These 99 names are prayed by every one of his followers every day.
It is forbidden to have so much as a stick figure image to represent the “prophet”.
This was all common knowledge in the church until 1831 when the heretical teaching of a pre-tribulation rapture taught by J. N. Darby, D. L. Moody and C.I. Scofield took over the church, causing the falling away.
Eze 28:1 The word of the LORD came again unto me, saying,

Revelation 17 is very specific that the harlot is a city ( Babylon ) that is established by the beast with 10 horns which are 10 kings of 10 kingdoms located around the kingdom containing the city of Babylon.

The word “rosh” is the Hebrew word for head.Therefore, thou son of man, prophesy against Gog, and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal: (Ezekiel 39:1|KJV-http://b-bq.eu/Ezek/39_1/KJV) Rosh doesn’t mean Russia, Meshech doesn’t mean Moscow and Tubal doesn’t mean Tobolsk. Meshech and Tubal are in center of modern Turkey.

This can not possibly be right!! For in Revelation it says that war is after the 1000 of Jesus control on earth. after satin is loosen again
