I want to thank all the readers who send me mail on their interpretation of prophecy. It is always good to hear what our fellow watchmen see and think.
This specific mail comes from Gordon Warren. Although I am cautious of date setting, his observations between the 70th week and the Jewish feast is very insightful AND it does almost line up with the current ENP. Here is Gordon’s mail:
The “antennae” of many eschatologists went up when the revamped European Neighborhood Policy (ENP) was put into effect on January 1, 2007. The seven year agreement continues to the end of 2013. It is essentially a slush fund that rewards countries for enacting EU-friendly economic and political policies. Israel was the first country to sign the agreement and it contains a midterm review period that allows for changes to the agreement. Twelve other parties signed on to the ENP, including the Palestinian Authority. The European Union currently guarantees the right of the Jewish religion to perform animal sacrifices (shechita), even though no sacrifices have been carried out since the destruction of the Temple in 70 AD.
By using Daniel 9:27, Daniel 12:11, 12, Matthew 24, Revelation 17:12-14, and a recalibrated Hebrew calendar, I was able to determine the exact dates of the 70th Seven. The Jewish Festivals and anniversaries support my calculations. I inserted the Mayan Prophecy because it fit the timeline.
THE 7Oth SEVEN KEY DATES: (note that Jewish Holidays begin at sundown the day BEFORE the given date)
Purim (The Feast of Esther) – March 30, 2006: first day of Religious Calendar
Feast of Trumpets – September 9, 2010: sacrifices and offerings are abolished in the Jewish Temple
Last Day of Mayan calendar – December 21, 2012: possible cosmic disturbances as described in Matthew 24
Plague of Darkness – March 22, 2013: the day the Antichrist sets up the abomination in the temple (Ex.10:21-29)
Purim Victory celebration/
Jerusalem Gate Day – April 5, 2013: the last day of Satan’s reign followed by Christ’s return (date/time???)Passover Feast -May 6, 2013: the date we will celebrate with the Lord in heaven (7 days)
Note that while the timeframes of the ENP and the 70th seven overlap, they are not the same. The ENP is not the 70th seven; it is merely a means to an end. Interestingly enough, Sir Isaac Newton also believed the Great Tribulation would start in 2006, though his calculations and methodology were based on different scriptural references.
Update: 7 April 2008
Here is some more from Gordon:
THE 7Oth SEVEN KEY DATES–PLEASE NOTE: Though my Hebrew calculations were 100% correct in the previous email, the conversion to Gregorian dates for Purim and Passover were incorrect. As a sign of good faith, I am enclosing a spreadsheet that enables anyone to verify my calculations and deduce my methodology for evaluation.
Purim (The Feast of Esther) – March 29, 2007: first day of Religious Calendar
Feast of Trumpets – September 9, 2010: sacrifices and offerings are abolished in the Jewish Temple
Last Day of Mayan calendar – December 21, 2012: possible cosmic disturbances as described in Matthew 24
Plague of Darkness – March 22, 2013: the day the Antichrist sets up the abomination in the temple
(Ex. 10:21-29)Purim Victory celebration/
Jerusalem Gate Day – April 5, 2013: the last day of Satan’s reign followed by Christ’s return (date/time???)Passover Feast -May 5, 2013: the date we will celebrate with the Lord in heaven (7 days)
Thanks Gordon! Fasinating stuff. God bless you.

I was looking on the Sir Isaac Newton thing and couldn’t find where we said it would start in 2006, I did find quite a bit that said 2060. I wonder if somehow the numbers got transposed?
[...] 70th Seven and the ENP - 2 Posted on April 7, 2008 by Wickus I have just updated the post The 70th Seven and the ENP. Please scroll down and read [...]
wow!..this is so good. I’ve been trying to do the math since 10.2007.
I have updated the chart. Please re-download.
Thank you, Wickus, and everyone else for your patience as I come to grips with my accidental discovery. I did not expect to discover the means to chart out the Great Tribulation according to Scripture.
My haste to tell the world about this has resulted in errors in date conversion from Hebrew to Gregorian (our calendar). Wickus has been working double-time to fix my mistakes and I noticed he replaced the chart that had 24 months for 2010. That means the last 3 dates Mar 22, Apr 5, and May 5 should be in the year 2014.
Sapphire: If you google: Isaac Newton tribulation 2006, you will find a number of entries. His 2060 prediction refers to the end of the world as we know it. As I later discovered, this was not a full-time project of Isaac Newton’s, but when I believed that the 70th seven began in 2006, I was more than happy to include his prediction with my findings. Who wouldn’t want their work connected to one of the greatest minds of our time?
My mistakes have humbled me and I offer this timetable as assurance that even in the midst of evil, God is in control.
I found Gordon’s comments and work really interesting.
But I have to disagree.
If we take the the entire 70 weeks of Daniel the facts are that the first 69 weeks from the order to rebuild Jerusalem until the Messiah came only work out if we calculate them at 360 days per. year.
When we do that we come to the very year the Lord Jesus rode into Jerusalem. Chuck Missler has done some great work on this.
If then the first 69 weeks are proven to be years of 360 days per. year we cannot logically, legitimately say the last week of 7 years will run at 365 days per. year. It is inconsistant. And God is never inconsistant.
Sarkozy’s new plan for the Mediteranean Union which includes all 27 members of the present EU could include the ENP. However whoever heard of a leader making an agreement between enemies and saying it will last 7 years.
God is saying to us Antichrist will make or confirm a deal with Israel and her neighbours and it will last 2520 days or 7 years at 360 days per. year. After 1260 days, or half way through, Antichrist breaks the agreement and desecrates the Temple. Then the Great Tribulation begins. Try as we may we cannot get 7 of our years out of 2520 days. But we can get 7 years exactly out of 2520 days and that runs in agreement with the first 69 weeks.
With respect let’s stick to what scripture and history tells us.
Hi Bob, and welcome.
Consider these verses:
Dan 12:11 And from the time that the continual burnt-offering shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand and two hundred and ninety days.
Dan 12:12 Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days.
With these verses I do get to 1290 and 1335 days from the mid of the 70th week to the end. That gives us a variable length of between 2550 and 2595 for the 70th week. To me it does look like God knew that we will have a different calender from 1BC and made provision for it. For the prophecy to be fulfilled on our current calender we need 2557 days only, and it does fall in this time span.
Your thoughts about the different lengths of the second half of the 70th week?
Thank you Gordon,
My mind is still trying to figure out the math he used. I do understand the feasts date and they way they line up. It’s always been something I’ve sort of paid attention to.
Bob, with all due respect to Mr. Missler, I do not see Jesus riding into town after 70 sevens (490 years).
The decree for Nehemiah to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem came in 444 BC. If you add 483 Hebrew years (483 x 360/365.24 = 476 solar years), you get 33AD, the year the Anointed one was cut off.
Even though the temple was destroyed in 70 AD (what could be considered the last 7) I could find no agreement made with the Jews that would fulfill the last 7. The same goes for the life of Cyrus, the liberator of Daniel from captivity who lived 70 years.
I actually wanted there to be some sort of agreement made by the Romans and Cyrus because my original thesis was that prophecies are like ripples in a pond that fulfill themselves as they move through time as God drops a pebble (prophecy) into the pond. As it turns out, that is only partially true.
The 70th seven has yet to be fulfilled and now we have the 7 year agreement in the ENP that may finally fulfill the 70th seven. That is what this study is all about. However, I believe that it will be God’s seven that will be fulfilled (not Satan’s), hence the Hebrew time frame of 7 years, which include leap months for the Sabbath and Jubilee years–hint hint!!!
You are all wrong. Why? Mt 24:42 and Mt 25:13, for example.
Matt, you are right. No one knows the day or hour, but we will know the season. That is the reason for prophecy and the signs going with them. If not so then Matt 24, Daniel, Revelation and hundreds of other prophecies written about the end times, is a waste of paper and ink. And that I sincerely doubt…!
I sincerely doubt that software, the Mayan Calendar, or any other attempts of somehow putting math into eschatology will spit out an estimate of the end of the world. It’s been tried many times before and you can always find a theory that somehow seems to fit. Some bible scholars can point out amazing parallels to the passages in Daniel to several events in Israel’s past, especially during the time of the Maccabees when Antiochus desecrated the Temple. The attempts of labelling Solana as the antichrist are poor and lack a concrete knowledge of the position he holds in the first place. The ENP is not an agreement signed with Israel – it is a policy initiative that operates with an Action Plan and is based on a bilateral association agreement that has been in place for quite some time. I could go on. Theologically, I rest my case that we cannot know the day of our Lord’s return, and any attempt to calculate it takes attention away from the tasks that accompany Mt 24: be awake and ready for His return, or the groom will exclude you from his feast.
Matt, I do agree that no software or Mayan calender can show us when the end will be. When there is reference to these in some articles, it is only to show they might also agree with my main source, The Bible. My faith is in God’s unmoved Word of prophecy in the Bible alone and not in any other source.
Regarding Solana, you are right again. I never said Solana is the Antichrist, but I do point out how a lot of prophecies seem to point to him. We will only no in the middle of the 70th week when the AC declares himself as God in the Temple and stop sacrifices. This blog is not for pinning the tail on the donkey, but to warn people of what might happen in the not to distant future. So please do not spread the news that Solana IS the Antichrist. He is a candidate and a very good candidate alone.
On the ENP you are wrong. The Barcelona Process was signed in 1995 with Solana at the head for the EU. It was between Israel and many other nations in the Mediterranean area for peace and security. It did not work as planed. The ENP was started to get it of the ground again. On the EU website they do state that the ENP does not replace Barcelona, but strengthen it. The ENPI is the funding instrument for the ENP and that was signed between the EU and the Barcelona Partners for a term of 7 years, starting Jan 2007. ENP/ENPI is a confirmation of Barcelona between Israel and many other nations for 7 years WITH a mid term review. It is the first time in Israels history that they are in a 7 year agreement with the EU, modern Rome. Coincidence?
Dan 9:27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.
These are the facts. If this is the fulfillment of prophecy, I can not be 100% sure. But to ignore it will be 100% stupid.
[...] The comments is from this post called The 70th Seven and the ENP: [...]
It’s that very misunderstanding of the ENP that I mean when I say that it seems like you’re trying to make the facts fict the prophecy here. The ENP is an initiative that originally has nothing to do with the Barcelona process. Mind you that it includes mainly Easter European countries and was only extended to the south after the Mediterranean EU-members pushed for it. Secondly, while it is true that the EU states complementarity between Barcelona and ENP as their objective, Israel has been welcoming the ENP with great enthusiasm as it provides a gateway to escape the broad regionalism of the Barcelona framework – not de jura, but definitely de facto. Plus, while the Strategy Paper of the ENPI is valid for 2007-2013, the ENP as a program started earlier, the Action Plans were drafted and signed earlier, and on top of it, Javier Solana might not even stay in office to see the midterm review coming, depending on the further development of the Lisbon ratification process.
My main concern with trying to see Bible prophecy fulfilled in real life at all cost is that it gives rise to a distorted view of real life politics themselves. Once you believe that Solana is the AC and the ENP brings about the end of the world, you fail to recognize the work that’s being done there and how the ENP could actually contribute to a more stable Middle East and quicker way to sustainable peace.
Our Lord told us we will see the signs, and I honestly believe they will be a lot more obvious than these.
You are hopeless, Matt. You can’t decide which side you are on. Do not tell us that we are imagining something bad….just an illusion and it’s really a VERY GOOD treaty. You know it’s a 7 YEAR TREATY THAT REVIEWS IN THE MIDDLE OF 2010 and Isreal was the first to sign! Regardless of the framing it took effect January 1, 2007. That was exactly what He told us to look for in Daniel 9…a 7 year treaty. Did you do your homework on Solana??? He is a member of the “Club of Rome’ and has some serious credentials with the Catholic Church. As the antichrist he can do as he wishes and will not be concerned about terms. Those that believe in him will keep him in high places.
Matt….if it looks like a duck. walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck I’m not thinking it’s a dog.
